Back from the Dead. Kind of.

I’ve got a little bit of time to kill so I thought I would let everyone know what I’m up to (even if you don’t care).
As I mentioned before two weekends ago I went to see STOMP in Toronto. Amazing show. They played everything plus the kitchen sink (pardon the pun). If you like to make music out of anything on hand, like the sound of everyday things being smashed or just have the chance to see the show do so!!
Last weekend I went to my nations capital, Ottawa (no it isn’t Toronto for those no Canadians) to visit some friends who moved up there 2 or 3 months ago. I wasn’t planning on driving since I was meeting two other friends in Toronto and then I was going to go with them but their car had been acting up (the clutch was slipping) that I agreed to drive. The drive to Ottawa from Toronto is around 5 hours and it is one of the most boring drives in the world. Actually it is interesting for about an hour but after that there is nothing all that amazing. The whole trip is done on major highways and the scenery is in general the same that I get driving around back home. Enough about the drive though. We got into Ottawa about 10:30 and did nothing that night. Just sat around and talked. We went to bed around 1 but I couldn’t get to sleep because the guy in the apartment above my friends was playing crappy “trance” music. The next day I was beat. We walked around and did some shopping (after watching morning cartoons) and that night we went out to see a band called the Hammerheads at Barrymore’s. Basically they are a funk cover band. They do their own stuff but they are better known for their covers. The show was pretty good but I wasn’t completely into it being so tired. We went home before the encore and slept in on Sunday. And that was the weekend. Nothing exciting but it was fun being elsewhere and getting away from home for a weekend.
This leads to Monday. On Monday while I was driving up to school the “check engine” light came on in my car. In the past couple of weeks the light would come on but turn of in a couple of seconds. This time it didn’t turn off. I took it into the shop when I got to Waterloo and they said that there are a couple of malfunctioning sensors which to replace will cost about 400-500 dollars. I hate my car!

  4. Good to hear from you! Good luck with the car… $400-$500 (even Canadian $) sounds outrageous. Cars piss me off…

Got here by way of The Mirror Project’s Gallery. I enjoyed STOMP, too. If you ever have the chance, see BLAST! It’s another touring troup of musical stage performers…Origins are in drum and bugle corps. I think thier URL is http://www.blasttheshow.com .
    Have a great day!
