Matrix on IMAX

The end of the weekend is drawing close and I really wish it wasn’t. I could use another day of sleeping in. So I went to see the Matrix: Reloaded on IMAX screen near Toronto on Friday. It was pretty cool. Basically when they make a movie into an IMAX movie they have to redo the sound and do some crazy stuff with the video so that when you watch it the movie is several times larger than a regular movie theater and the sound is phenomenal. Though experiencing the movie in IMAX format was cool it wasn’t as cool as I expected it to be. It was bigger and louder but I find that once I’m immersed in a movie at a regular theater I don’t notice anything outside of the movie. So for me it was interesting but I don’t think I will be going to see the next one (Revolutions) on the IMAX screen.

  1. I’m the same way with TV. Our screen is 27″, yet when I get into a show it fills my head. Why get a bigger screen when the one in my head is as big as I want it to be.
