Movie Meme

Another meme stolen from Dave. Apparently he is the only one in my contact you does the meme thing anymore. Thanks Dave!

Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
The only movies I can think I’ve likely seen more than 10 times is Star Wars: A New Hope and the Wizard of Oz (it was on once a year when we were younger). Other movies that I’m likely very close to the 10 views mark would include Ravenous, Best in Show, Amelie, A Very Long Engagement, and Donnie Darko.
Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in the theater.
I think I saw the Matrix twice. That is likely the most I’ve ever seen a movie in the theatre. I can usually wait until it comes out on DVD after the first time.
Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
I can’t think of anyone for this question. Typically I don’t select the movies I want to see according to the actors in them.
Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
Hmmm. Paris Hilton. Though I use the term “actor” very very lightly.
Name a movie that you can and do quote from.
Best in Show, and/or A Mighty Wind.
Hey! Wha happened!
Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut!
Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
See the above answer.
Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
Donnie Darko and/or Ravenous. Both are very good. One for the “what the crap” factor, the other for the score.
Name a movie that you own.
Too many to list. Though if I’ve mentioned a movie above I likely have it on DVD.
Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Tom Waits. He hasn’t been in many movies, but when he is it’s enjoyable.
Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?
Absolutely. When I was a kid. I remember seeing Smokey and the Bandit Part 3 (I think – it’s the one with the pregnant elephant), Octopussy, Beastmaster (gave me nightmares) and E.T. I’m sure I saw more but I don’t recall.
Ever made out in a movie?
I don’t think so.
Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven’t yet gotten around to it.
Hmmm. I know there are a bunch I’ve been meaning to see but I can’t recall any at the moment.
Ever walked out of a movie?
Nope.
Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
Big Fish. Though I didn’t cry much 🙂
What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?
Hmmm. I’m not sure. It may have been Pan’s Labyrinth. It’s been a while since we’ve been to the theatre.
What’s your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Hmmm. I guess the type of movie that makes you think about it after it’s over. Not really a genre though.
What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Disney’s The Fox and the Hound
What movie do you wish you had never seen?
Waking Life. Pretentious drivel.
What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
David Lynch’s Eraserhead followed in a close second by David Lynch’s Mullholland Drive.
What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?
When I was younger I hated horror movies – I remember being afraid when someone told me the plot of Night of the Living Dead, and was scared by the beginning of Maximum Overdrive. Now I’m not easily scared.
What is the funniest movie you’ve seen?
Best in Show is probably the funniest movie I’ve ever seen. Fred Willard is hillarious.
