I wrote an entry a couple of days ago about my new vinyl addiction. I’ve come to the conclusion that I am not addicted specifically to vinyl (records that is). I’m addicted to information and the media.
I have more books than I can probably read in my lifetime. I have more CD’s than normal human beings do. I’ve bought dozens of records in the past 2 weeks and listened to maybe a dozen of them. I have many many MP3’s and movie files on my computer. More than I have time to watch. I own movies I haven’t even watched yet, but plan to at some point. I just love the media and I love the information I can learn from the media.
I don’t think it is an unhealthy addiction. I don’t spend every waking hour on the internet, even though it may seem that way sometimes. I do have an offline life. It’s not very exciting but it does exist. So I don’t think it’s a bad addiction.

Oh yes, I do so love the media which is why I spent several years in the University studying it. 🙂
You are not alone in your addiction 🙂
