Brrrrr!!!

So I’m back from the long long weekend. Actually I got home last night but was tired and didn’t feel like posting. Now I do.
The weekend was fun but very very cold. I went up to the cottage Thursday afternoon with my parents. We got up to the cottage around 8 pm, just in time to watch the second to last episode of Survivor. I don’t remember what we did for the rest of the night. Probably played cards. I ended up reading until close to 1 am and then off to bed.
Friday morning my dad and I did a lot of raking since over the fall and winter leaves, twigs and whole trees fall to the ground. My brother, his girlfriend and my grandparents came up later that afternoon. My dad, brother, his girlfriend and I went for a two and a half hour hike before coming back for dinner. Much card playing was done that night.
Saturday morning the lot of us (minus my mom and grandfather) went out to garage sales. I pictured up a bunch of books (since I love used books). There weren’t any major buys but it was fun. We then stocked up on groceries, went back to the cottage and played cards, crokinole and did a bunch of reading. I ended up watching the movie “When They Were Kings” on CBC that night.
We woke up on Sunday to find snow on the ground. The temperature hovered around 2 or 3 degrees so we didn’t do much outside. We watched a bunch of TV. A semi-final hockey game was on in the afternoon and the last episode of Survivor was on that evening. As usual when we weren’t watching TV we were playing cards or crokinole. 🙂
We came back Monday afternoon. The traffic was crazy, but that was expected since it was Victoria Day and everyone who went up to their cottage were going home the same way we were.
So that was my weekend. How was yours?
(Due to length of the post no proofreading was done)

  1. Sounds like a blast!
Welcome back to the real world 😉

  2. The weather in Singapore is the opposite; it’s been so hot that the temperature inside our home hovers around 31 degrees celcius. I’ve been using the air-con a lot for the past few days.

I still get a blank page in my mind every time I try to picture crokinole, even after I read the crokinole faq. It sounds kinda like Ludo, though.
