So this past week has been way too busy, and I’ve been way too lazy to post anything.
Thursday was likely the worst possible day ever. It was quite a long work day, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though I felt rushed all day since I was dealing with three key people throughout the day. Running around and trying to satisfy all of our clients. The crappiness didn’t occur until after work, when I walked to the parking lot and noticed that I had a flat tire. I thought, okay I’ll call my auto club and either get the tire changed or towed to a place to get it fixed. Sadly my cell phone had died during the day. So I rushed back inside to make the phone call, unluckily the front door to the office was now locked (and since I’m not an employee I couldn’t get back in). Thankfully someone who left was nice enough to let me in. So I called up the auto club, they said a tow truck would be there within the next two hours. I decided to change the tire myself, and someone told me where the closest Canadian Tire was so I could get the flat fixed. During the tire change the tow truck arrived and I told him I didn’t need his help.
I drove to Canadian tire. Got the tire fixed and was home by 9:30. I wasted a little more than two hours of my time in this fiasco.
The rest of the week was okay. I found a bunch of great albums on vinyl (i.e. The Sugarcubes “Life’s Too Good”, The Pogues “Peace and Love”, Spirit of the West “Save This House”) and a bunch of good books (i.e. A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers) during our thrift shoppings last night.
The next big pain in the butt is my quest to find new tires for my car. I hate having to use my car for my work-driving. I almost think I’ll need to get a new car before I finishing paying off the debt on the one I bought last year. The mileage on it after one year of driving is way too high, granted Firda and I did put a little more than 3000 kilometers on it during our Honeymoon, and trips to the cottage add another 600 or so each time we go. It’s just a pain thinking I might have to fork out for new tires every year to year and a half. (mental note: remember to rotate them every 4 oil changes).

Good to see a post! 🙂 Sorry to hear you had such a crappy day! Was it cold on Thursday? We’ve had -20 C + wind chill lately and changing a tire in that weather doesn’t sound like something I’d want to do.
Do they have Les Schwab in Canada? They have such great service that I almost don’t mind having to buy new tires! 🙂
Kirsi: It was actually quite mild on Thursday (I think the high was around +8 C) so changing the tire wasn’t as much of a pain as it could have been.

Take a look at http://www.1010tires.com/. They have a lot of information on tires and have user feedback for the tires. It is a great site to do some research on buying a new set of tires for your car. Good place to compare some prices too!
