Donkeys!

Firda and I played with Donkeys today. We took a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada. The Sanctuary is a non-profit charity that takes in unwanted, abused or neglected donkeys and mules. The sanctuary currently has a little more than 50 donkeys, and I’m not sure the number of mules (I think it was 20 plus).
It was a good day. A handful of couples, some kids, and about 20 donkeys. We grabbed brushes, introduced ourselves to one of the donkeys walking around in the enclosure and groomed them. The donkeys were happy to have people there to brush, pet and scratch them. The donkeys are use to people being around, and even come up to potential groomers without needing to be coaxed.
Firda will likely be putting pictures of our trip up in the next couple of days. I’m sure this won’t be our last trip to the Sanctuary.
