You know what? Somedays I’m even prouder than usual that I’m Canadian. Today is one of those days. Today an Ontario’s highest court decided to allow legal same sex marriages. Basically the Ontario court said that “the federal definition of marriage as a lawful and voluntary union between “one man and one woman” violated the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms” and should be changed. I think this says alot about Ontario and Canada in general. I’m sure there will be a backlash from the conservative political spectrum and all the crazed religious groups out there but I see this as a major step in the right direction.
