Hey everyone. Not much to post about. Firda and I didn’t do much this weekend. Hit some thrift stores, went to Rockwood, Ontario, took some pictures and watched a couple of movies. We went to the cinema on Friday and saw “The Prestige“. Good movie. I figured out part of the movie twist early in the film, but I didn’t piece all of the details together. We also watched Delicatessen (Jean Pierre Jeunet’s first feature film – you know! The guy who directed Amelie!). I had seen it ages ago but didn’t remember most of the story. Highly enjoyable. See it if you haven’t had the chance.
I figured I would do a meme, which Dave did a couple of weeks ago. For those of you who want to read the meme check out the extended entry.

Explain what ended your last relationship?
Well I am currently still in my last relationship. The one before that was barely a relationship and it just kind of dissolved.
When was the last time you shaved?
Friday morning I believe.
What were you doing this morning at 8 a.m.?
Sleeping! It’s the weekend.
What were you doing 15 minutes ago?
I’m watching Desperate Housewives (kind of). Before that I was just surfing.
Are you any good at math?
I have an Masters in Mechanical Engineering so I hope I’m good at math 🙂
Your prom night?
I never went to my prom. I did act as a chauffeur (with two other guys) for another friends prom, which was fun until we ran out of stuff to do. Though we did go to the “after party” which was a lot of fun.
Do you have any famous ancestors?
I don’t think so.
Have you had to take a loan out for school?
No. I was in to co-op education program, which means I got paid to work ever couple of months (4 months at school then 4 months at work).
Do you know the words to the song on your MySpace profile?
I don’t have a MySpace profile. Why would I need one when I have a blog.
Last thing received in the mail?
An email tell me I won something from EBay – I wasn’t surprised since it was a “Buy it Now” item.
How many different beverages have you had today?
Chocolate milk for breakfast. Something called a Beachcomber (Sprite, Orange Juice and Cranberry Juice) at Red Lobster for lunch. Apple Cider for dinner. And water throughout the day.
Do you ever leave messages on people’s answering machine?
Yes. Answering machines are for leaving message so why not.
Who did you lose your CONCERT virginity to?
I think it was a full day concert called “Another Roadside Attraction” featuring the Inbreds, Eric’s Trip, Matthew Sweet, Blues Traveller, Spirit of the West, Ziggy Marley and the Tragically Hip.
Do you draw your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
Not everytime but I have. Plus I’ve written Firda’s in the sand too.
What’s the most painful dental procedure you’ve had?
Getting one of my upper wisdom teeth out. It took a week or so for the swelling to go down.
What is out your back door?
We live in an apartment. No back door.
Any plans for Friday night?
We went to the movies (see above).
Do you like what the ocean does to your hair?
What the heck kind of a question is this? I live about 1000 kilometers from the closest ocean. I have swam in it, but I don’t remember what it did to my hair.
Have you ever received one of those big tins of 3 different popcorns?
I’ve never personally received them but my dad did when I was living at home. Good stuff – though I’m not very fond of caramel popcorn.
Have you ever been to a planetarium?
Yes. The one in Toronto, it’s been closed since.
Do you re-use towels after you shower?
Sure. Otherwise I would have a pile of laundry to clean every week.
Some things you are excited about?
I can’t think of anything specific right now. Life is a pretty good thing to be excited about.
What is your favorite flavor of JELLO?
Cherry. Or grape.
Describe your keychain(s)?
It’s one of those electronic unlocking devices. It used to have a metal thingy from the dealership, which broke off a while ago.
Where do you keep your change?
In my pocket, or in a little orange plastic bag in the bedroom.
When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group of people?
A large crowd of people. If a couple dozen is large it would be at a conference where I presented the work I was doing in the field of Material Science. That would have been 2002 I believe.
What kind of winter coat do you own?
A coat that fits and keeps me warm.
What was the weather like on your graduation day?
From what I remember the weather has been great on all of my graduation days.
Do you sleep with the door to your room open or closed?
Open when I am at home (in Waterloo). Closed when stay at my parents place (to block the noise from my family).
