I haven’t done a Friday Q in a couple of weeks. Not because they haven’t been interesting but because I haven’t had time (or felt like making the time for my blog).
FQ TOPIC: Read
FQ1: Who is your one favorite author and why is their work so appealing to you?
Kurt Vonnegut Jr. because he can tell you what happens to all of the characters within the first chapter of a book and keep you interested enough to continue reading. I also love how he can take a 280+ page book and split it into 127 chapters (Cat’s Cradle)
FQ2: What are your two favorite literary subjects and why is reading about them interesting to you?
Social commentary (specificially the humorous type) and religious commentary (humourous is always entertaining as well).
FQ3: What are your three favorite books and why are each of them special to you?
Quickly off the top of my head I’d pick:
Towing Jehovah by James Morrow
Hey Nostradamus! : A Novel by Douglas Coupland
Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
FQ Author: If you had to write a book, what genre of book would you pen (mystery, romance, science fiction, biography, etc.) and what would it be about?
Probably a black humour social commentary. Not that I’d be able to write anything that exciting of insightful. And I would probably call it “An exploration into the human condition” or something like that 🙂
