So yesterday was Canada Day and I spent most of it lounging around in my parents pool trying to keep from reminding myself that the temperature was 44 degrees Celsius (this includes the humidity). It looks like the heat is going to stick around until Friday and then it’s going to drop off. In my mind the only redeeming quality of Summer is the fact that I can go swimming but I would do without that ability if I didn’t have to deal with the sweltering heat.
On my way back up to Waterloo I noticed there were an awful lot of people driving around and parking everywhere in Waterloo. Then I remembered the fireworks display that the University puts on. So I got home, unloaded all of my crap and walked off towards the Columbia Icefields where the fireworks were being held. While I was walking I noticed music playing from on the P.A. system. As I got closer I realized that it was the B.A. Baracus Band. The band is only a cover band. All they do is cover other artists songs and all they use is a guitar, bongos and a kazoo. I didn’t know they were going to be playing but it was a nice added bonus.
The fireworks display was nice. They went on for 15 to 20 minutes and the finale was spectacular and loud.
The rest of my weekend was pretty good as well. Went to my friends buck and doe on Saturday, went to a friends bonfire on Sunday and the rest of the time just hung out. I’m still tired because I haven’t been sleeping well in this heat and I’m a little sunburnt from all the pool time yesterday. Oh and I’m sticky because of the stupid humidity but you didn’t want to know that.

Hehehe. I thought B.A. Baracus Band was a band featuring Mr. T 🙂
And it’s such a hot, hot night though it’s not nearly as hot as 44 degrees Celsius. Thank God for that!
I’m supposed to be re-designing my weblog but I’m running out of ideas already. The duck I’m going to use in this design is not very inspiring :
