It’s Autumn and the Leaves are Changing Colour

Leaves at the Cottage
With the change in the seasons come a change in the colour of the leaves. I took this picture over the weekend up at my cottage. Surprisingly there wasn’t a lot of red in the foliage this year. Wonder why that is.
So how was everyones weekend? Hopefully the Canadians had a great Thanksgiving long weekend. Mine was pretty good. Nice and relaxing up at the cottage. I finished two books and read a third. Caught up on previously taped shows (Survivor, Friends and CSI:Miami) while it was raining on Sunday morning. My brother proposed to his girlfriend while we were up there so there is going to be a wedding in the family in 2004 (at least that’s the way it looks). Other than that it was uneventful which was good. The weather was quite nice with a little bit of rain Sunday morning. It cooled down a little on Monday but we didn’t care. The traffic kind of sucked but it wasn’t a huge deal. Though it was nice to finally get back to Waterloo. And that’s my weekend. What about yours?

    Lovely picture, but no squirrel.

  2. I love this time of year, being so close to the mountains, and seeing the colors change in so fast a fashion. It is as if the whole planet (the whole hemisphere, OK) decided to dress in its formal galas before going into winter.
    Absolutely precious.

  3. What a beautiful photo! One of the sad truths of living somewhere like LA is that there is no real change of seasons here. Our trees either stay green all year, or they just turn brown sometime in October.

  4. Also another good thing about the cooling down of the weather and eventually the winter is the fact that we don’t have to deal with bugs (mosquitoes, wasps etc.) for 4 or 5 months which is a major plus in my books.
