A long absence. Followed by a meme. This blogger is a lame-o! The meme was stolen from Dave, and half way through it I realized that I’ve done one very similar. Though some of my answers have changed – not many though.

Of all the bands & artists in your collection, of which one do you own the most albums?
That would be the many variations of the godfather of industrial Foetus (aka Clint Ruin – aka J.G. Thirwell). He is definitely not everyone’s couple of tea. Coming in at a tie for second place are Nine Inch Nails and They Might Be Giants and Kronos Quartet.
What was the last song you listened to?
I believe it was “This Lamb Sells Condos” by Final Fantasy. Check out the video to the song. Pretty sweet.
What’s in your CD player right now?
A mixed MP3 CD in my car CD player.
What are your favorite instruments?
Piano. I don’t know how one instrument can convey so much emotion.
Who’s your favorite local artist/band?
I would have to say at this point it would be Final Fantasy. He is from Toronto. Local enough.
What was the last show you attended?
The last show I attended was the Feist, Bloc Party and Broken Social Scene show back in June of last year.
What was the greatest show you’ve ever been to?
Bjork on Olympic Island. Great music, fireworks, audio presentation and a cute little Icelandic girl.
What’s the worst band you’ve ever seen in concert?
A band called Unit 187 or something like that. They were loud, obnoxious and really really sucked. Not a good band. Thankfully the other bands at the event we fun.
What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Hmmm. I bet that this question was created specifically for people who like the music of Oasis but don’t like the Gallagher brothers 🙂
What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
My public school did a “Surfing USA” show one year. All I can remember is that I was one of the guys on the surfboards. So lame.
What show are you looking forward to?
I can’t think of any upcoming shows I know of.
What is your favorite band shirt?
I think my Super Furry Animals shirt. I don’t know the band very well but I found the shirt at VV and loved it.
What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Still Bjork.
What musician would you like to be in love with you for a day?
Bjork again. Though I would need to go back in time to the pre-marriage days. I’m sure Firda would get jealous 🙂
What was your last musical “phase” before you wised up?
Hmmm. I don’t think I’ve had a musical phase I didn’t like.
Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
Old Sabbath. When Ozzy was still in the band.

My 700+ CDs and hundreds of vinyl records already tipped me off on this. Thanks.
What was the greatest decade for music?
All decades have something to office. Though I would say the 2000’s have so far been very good. Mostly due to the presence of the Internet, which makes it easier to find new artists and likeminded people who tip you off on good artists.
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
I’m thinking the Magnolia soundtrack is pretty good. I love the movie.
Who is your favorite artist who is much better live than on a recording?
Kid Koala is way better live than on his recordings (even though his recordings are amazing). At his live shows he is up on stage, constantly smiling, chatting with the audience and generally giving out good vibes. I love him 🙂
Do you have a hidden desire to be a popular musician?
Not anymore. When I was younger I wished I could be a rockstar.
Have you ever used drugs to enhance the music experience?
Nope. Alcohol is the only drug I use and very sparsely. I’d be luck if I have a dozen beers in a year.
What was the last song you heard that gave you a chill?
Can’t think of any at the moment. Though I do get the chills (though I like to call them the Hibbly-Jibblies [from Strong Bad Emails]) when I list to certain songs.
Where would you be without music?
In a dull meaningless world 🙂
