I’m in Waterloo this weekend for the purpose of going to Stratford Ontario. For those of you not from Ontario – Stratford holds a Shakespeare festival every year. It is a Shakespeare festival in name but they do not limit themselves only to the Bards work. Today I am going two short one act plays. The first is called Bereav’d of Light by Ian Ross. A quick synopsis of the play from the festival site “With the help of an Ojibway warrior, an escaped slave from the American South flees to freedom in this fascinating exploration of a little-known aspect of 18th-century history: the interaction between North America’s Aboriginal and African-Canadian communities.”
The second play is the Fellini Radio Plays by reknowned Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. I know nothing about this play since the story synopsis on the website only says the script was recently discovered and that it is a comedy. Should be interesting.
I’ll post more when after I’ve seen them. Now I must get ready to go off and get “cultured”.
