Baby Fever

It seems like everywhere I turn on of my friends is either pregnant or just had a baby. A friend from school had a baby in December and Nita had a baby in March. Last weekend while I was at home two friends from Toronto told me they were expecting and then tonight I get home and there is an email from another set of friends telling me they are expecting in November.
I’m happy for everyone but it makes me feel like I should be doing the same thing. Though I guess the first step would be to get a girlfriend. Problems problems!!

If you live with a couple with a baby, there will be times you are glad you don’t have a baby of your own, especially when the baby wakes up and asks you to play in such an ungodly hour when all you want to do is sleep. Another time is when the baby cries and you have no idea why and nothing you do can stop it from crying. Boy, is it frustrating. Getting pooped on or peed on or barfed on is not bad at all compared to those. One really should sample living with a baby that is not their own before they get their own baby. After nearly 7 months of living with one, I can safely call myself a veteran, I know what I’m saying ๐Ÿ™‚ But I guess if it’s your own baby, things are probably not that bad though my brother still keeps on complaining about his baby’s habit of waking up when he’s tired after work and needs to sleep, to which all I can say is, “Well, you were the one who wanted a baby.” And oooh, I’m getting a brand new niece next week! W00t! Wait for a picture! Being an aunt is fun, even if you have to give away bundles of money whenever your sister-in-law is about to give birth ๐Ÿ™‚ Now I wonder who’s going to give me bundles of money when _I_ am about to give birth. But I guess I won’t have to worry about that anytime soon. Heh. Personally, I’m more bothered when someone I know is getting married than when someone I know is expecting a baby. I want to get married too! *whines* Ooops, it’s getting too long. This has got to be one of the longest comments you ever received. Or is it _the_ longest?

  2. I think it’s the longest comment I’ve ever recieved ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. sometime it seems like the world is going through a phase. right now, the phase around me is people getting engaged and married. of course, i’m probably noticing it much more because i am one of those people… :o) no babies for a while though.

  4. My friends have been going through that phase for a couple of years. Every year I seem to have another friends wedding to go to. Everyones getting married it seems. Except me. Oh well.

  5. Some people list their entry at the top of their comments form. I actually thought that comment WAS your entry, until I realized it was longer than your entry… LOL
I think it goes in cycles. I notice the same thing among my friends too. Either it cycles or you just happen to notice it because you’re looking for it.
Either way… I’m not drinking the water anymore. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. i don’t want a baby, but i do feel like everyone i know is engaged with a wedding date set or married. i’m not ready to get married, but i miss the stability of a long-term relationship. i was finally beginning one–then he moved cross country.
