Cliff-Hangers

I sat down tonight and spent three hours watching the season finales for two shows that I faithfully watch, namely Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. (Aside: Before I lose your respect I’ve been watching these shows for a while and I love the humour and the B-movie quality of them. Also Alyson Hannigan [aka Willow] is super cute). Both were excellent (I won’t get into the details because some of my foreign readers will not see these episodes for a couple more months) but let me tell you how much I hate cliff-hangers.
The finale of Buffy wasn’t really a cliff-hanger. Major changes will occur next season but everything from this season has been resolved, more or less. Angel on the other hand was a full-blown cliff-hanger. The fates of three of the main characters are up in the air and I have to wait minimum 4 months before I find out what happens.
I guess THEY do it so you don’t stray and stop watching the show forever because the season ended. I’ve always disliked cliff-hangers. By torturing me you can’t make me love you anymore!!!! I’m not into S&M you television corporate bastards!!!! 🙂

  1. I saw the Buffy Finale too. I tend to watch about 4 episodes of Buffy each season. The first 2 and the last 2. Really, they sum it all up for you, so you aren’t missing much by not seeing the middle of season. 🙂

  2. I am a “Buffy” lover myself. Don’t have shame in your TV choices!

Buffy? Eww. I think I’m the only person in the world who thinks that all the female casts in Buffy are too heavily made-up. I kinda like Angel, though.

  4. Cliff hangers are one of television’s most devious ideas. They should be outlawed.

  5. Too bad we don’t get Angel on our regular TV channels here in Singapore. As for Buffy, we won’t get to watch the finale until months later.
