Goodbye 2008 – Hello 2009

It’s the last day of 2008 and we are getting ready to have people over for New Years Eve. It will be a small group of people – 6 or 8 including Firda and I but it will be nice.
2008 was a pretty big year for Firda and I with the purchase (more accurately indentured service to the mortgage lender) of our first home in Stratford, Ontario. This involved a move from the town that I’d spent most of 13 years in. We still miss the amenities of Waterloo but Stratford has grown on us, and we definitely do not miss our old apartment dwellers (especially crappy music Fridays, the downstairs bass-tacular jerks and upstairs stompies [though they got much better after talking with them]).
I’m also getting ready to become a blood-related uncle from my brother and sister-in-law (note: I am an uncle to an adorable girl and boy back in Indonesia whom I haven’t had the pleasure to meet yet). Her due date is tonight but we haven’t heard anything yet.
No time for resolutions. I don’t like making them. I have one that I’ve told Firda and I’m going to try my damnest to keep to it.
At that I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and we will see you in 2009!
