Lists

It’s a lot easier to make a list than it is to maintain a list. Especially when you have to play around with HTML or any other fun web language. I just updated my book list. I’m sometimes anal about keeping track of stuff. In this case it’s the books that I’ve read. I’ve been keeping track of the books read since 1993. I read before that but I guess 1993 was the year the reading actually meant something for me. That would have been grade 12 or 13.
Looking back at the list it appears I spent a lot of time reading the fantasy and sci-fi novels of Anne McCaffrey, Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks and Alan Dean Foster. I then started reading the classic fantasy and sci-fi of Ray Bradbury. This ultimately lead to the discovery of Kurt Vonnegut who is still one of my favorite authors.
I’d like to think that my tastes have diversified a lot since 1993 and I believe they have. Currently I’ve been into a lot of different stuff but I’ve been reading more children stories. They are fun and easy to read. They also don’t involve a whole lot of thinking and at this point that is exactly what I need.
What book are you reading? I’m always open to suggestions.

Have you read Roald Dahl’s autobiographies, “Boy” and “Going Solo”? They are excellent.

Haven’t read “Going Solo”, but I loved “Boy”. Good call!

  3. I have a couple of Roald Dahl sitting in the “too be read” pile. None of his autobiographies. I will have to keep my eye open for those.
