Minister Troy?!?!

I have a question that I must pose to the masses? Let us say you have friends who are getting married and let us say that they asked you if you wanted to get ordained (non-denominationally) and do the ceremony. What would you do? On the plus side it would be kind of cool to have married your friends (really who else could say they had done this?) on the negative side is I would actually have to do the ceremony and it might suck. Though the coolness factor of it all (in a geeky kind of way) is alluring 🙂 Let me know what you think.

  1. I think it’s pretty cool. I’ve thought about the whole online ordination thing, but have never done it.
Anyway, if you’re afraid of suckage, try working together with your friends to work out how the ceremony will be. When my wife and I were married, we wrote the script with the minister. It worked out great.

  2. Without a doubt! Do it!
I would do it in a second.
    It woud be fantastic!
Yep. Do it do it do it!
    And…..
    Do it!

  3. You mean you aren’t ordained yet? And you call yourself a geek (don’t you?)!
I personally know two internet-ordained ministers. My husband (aka The Geek) is ordained in the Universal Life Church and a friend of ours (and The Geek’s supervisor) is ordained in the Church of the Subgenious. The Geek has been itching to perform a ceremony of some kind. 🙂

  4. I am ordained through Universal Life Church. Yep, my credentials hang on my cubicle wall. Makes for interesting conversation.
